“I started Lakeshore Writer’s Workshop to offer writers a safe, supportive environment to come together, create new works, and learn from one another in an encouraging community. I hope you will join us and give power and time to your writing and the development of your own unique voice.” - Teresa Burns Gunther, writer and teacher
Refine your craft, and find your voice.
Work one on one.
Lakeshore Writers Workshops and classes are based on the belief that everyone has a unique, original voice, and that writing is an art form that belongs to all people. Enroll in a generative writing workshop focused on the craft of writing to strengthen your practice, produce more work, take risks, or simply to defeat those momentary phases of writers block. Master Classes with visiting authors are offered throughout the year. Workshop testimonials here.
Manuscript Workshops: Perfect your work and get it ready to publish. These workshops host a community of colleagues who meet weekly to respond to each others work and receive constructive critique while exploring the many aspects of the craft, all with a goal of developing and completing works in progress. One day weekend intensives are also offered during the year.
In one-on-one sessions, Teresa offers in-depth feedback on a piece of writing to discover where the writing is most alive and to identify opportunities to go deeper and to realize the writing's greatest potential. Receive constructive feedback on your current work, as well as guidance and support for your writing goals. (Participants of Teresa's workshop receive a complimentary private session.)
