ABOUT THE WORKSHOPS

WHAT HAPPENS AT A LAKESHORE WRITERS WORKSHOP?

In the workshops, writers meet once a week to create new work and respond constructively to one another's writing.

Each session includes timed writing exercises in any number of genres to which each writer responds as s/he pleases. Writers then share their work aloud and receive precise, positive feedback.

One day workshops offered throughout the year create an opportunity for a writer to focus intensely upon his/her work in a five hour session.

The objective of the Lakeshore Writers Workshop is to provide a safe, supportive setting for a community of writers to come together and create new works or further develop works in progress. Opportunities are also available for group critique of manuscripts.

"The most regretful people on earth are those who felt the call to creative work, who felt their own creative power restive and uprising, and gave to it neither power nor time." -- Mary Oliver, Blue Pastures
